s600 engine issues help please!

Hey everyone I have a 2002 s600 and I was driving on the highway somewhere between 70 and 80 mph and all of the sudden the engine power cut off for a few seconds and check engine light came on and it started lagging extreme power and sounded way different as if it were only running on 6 cylinders or something like that?? i just hit 101,000 and I never drive this car only on long drives to virginia or canada because this thing is the best highway king! I got home right away and put it straight into the garage and shut it off and turned it back on and now everything is back to normal, I haven't checked for any codes because i haven't had anytime but i read somewhere on this forum that if i get to those speeds again it will happen again and i really dont want to even risk it again of completely dieing out ?
Any help please?? You all are Mercedes kings on this forum !
Thanks

Time to replace both coil packs. Look at $1,100 ea. Not cheap, but these cars are worth it. Ride on !!!

Thanks someone else also suggested that to me today but they also mentioned a voltage converter that I was quoted for around 700 dollers... Both of the coil packs are connected to this part. Do I have to change this also? i also got quoted for 1000 each coil pack? is that reasonable?
