LED Tail light upgrade for the W221

Has anyone upgraded their W221 tail lights to the aftermarket LED lights?

If so, could you please explain how you removed the old lights and installed the new ones.

Looking in the trunk it doesn't look too easy to take out the panels to get to the tail light bolts. Perhaps someone can explain how to go about it?

Thanks Tony

I was looking on ebay too. The dealer I looked at was "fishcakes 321". They are about $400.00.

I haven't ordered yet because I read on that thread you listed, some people have had problems with his lights. I'm waiting to see if anyone posts a follow up. Hopefully, he has replaced the faulty lights.

Post 408, last page of the thread.

so i installed my set of led tails from fishcake and i have problems. when arming the car, the passenger side tail flashes normally, the entire led section lights up. the driver side only the bottom signal portion flashes, none of the red leds flash. I tried unplugging the connector a few times and once or twice the red leds flashed or maybe half a second and then it went back to just the signal flashing.

any thoughts on what it could be??

If anyone has a better source please advise.

Tony

You are right. I read the rest of the thread and the guy said he got replacements and they worked. I also found out that the ones fishcake 321 and express parts sell are the same price when you factor in the shipping cost.

I'm ready to buy a set but would like to save a buck or two. If you find the other seller please let me know.

Here is a link to a fishcakes ebay ad. http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-09-MERCED...sories&vxp=mtr
