S55 in the snow - any real-world experience here?

mine stays parked in the garage when the snow starts to fly.
i would be lucky to get it out of the driveway.
the tires that come on the car are strictly summer tires.
winter is when the ML goes to work

It would be dangrous driving a S55 in the snow. my dad drives his e55 in the wet and its dangerous enough. the 55 motor has too much power for the snow/ice/rain. IMO i would pass on the S55 if i were to have a car for all seasons. But we live in Australia so i cant really judge how a S55 goes in the snow. but through common sense id go for something 4wd like you said before!
BTW what happened to your Porsche 996TT?

traded the 996TT on a 550. it was a great car, but i grew tired of (i) the e-gas setup, (ii) the minimal turbo spool, and (iii) the AWD, which made tossing the car around rather tough.

Wow and you also had a 550. thats a decent collection of cars you've had!
the only car i can think of that you havent yet owned is the Aston martin Vanish which bond uses! thats 4WD hehehehe and its got bombs and gadets
imagine rockin up to work in one of them....soooooo where's my Raise BOSS!
back to the topic: your situation is a tough one. 4WD would be optimal, but 700nm and 368Kw is hard to pass.
