2008 S63 transmission upshift problems
hi... i recently purchased an out of warranty 2008 s63 with 56k miles on it... one previous owner, of which i know nothing about, outside of the fact that this is the same dealership which originally sold the car new. the beast is beautiful, strong and outside of a cracked rim i found and resolved, a few months of troubleshooting why it lost 25lbs of air pressure a week ;-). i saw nothing wrong until i get on the car & the trans refuses to upshift into proper gear, in any mode, sport or comfort -- after i let off the throttle at high rpm, say 5500 to 6500 ballparlk. it takes the car, about 4-8 seconds, on average, with no throttle to figure out, that it needs to recover to a more appropriate gear as the rpms drop and it slows down, say 2000-2500 ballpark, when it finally decides to upshift. is this just me, can i get this resolved or am i completely screwed here?

update next day:
i did an ecu reset using the ignition key / gas pedal method today and will be testing the results soon. my car is a 2008, so the next trip will be to ask dealer for all software updates & what im being told is a trans adaptation reset procedure. if anyone has anything else to add, please do so, because it'll help others and me, diagnose this "stuck in upshift" condition quicker, so that way the real tuning and mods can start ;-)

that job, usually i charge consist of "replace tran filter and fluid job: which roughly 2 hrs.. and addition 1 more hour to remove the two shift solenoid while the oil pan is off..
3 hrs total... plus the fluid and the part..
i believe the parts at dealer 80-100 each solenoid...
alot of people upgrading to "blue top" shift solenoid, give you firmer shift...
Try that first, hopefully your shift issue resolve, if not, you might have to rebuilt the tranny..

have you try to put the transmission into "manual" mode and try to shift with the paddles?
the two solenoid control your shifting by directing fluids ... if the selenoid bad or the fluid chanel screen is clogged up... you can have shifting issue...
replace these first and make sure you have full transmission clean synthetic tran fluid also...
a/t is complicated system sensor and solenoid etc... although these solenoid are known to fail... try this first before updating the whole tranny
