2006 S55 Catalyic Converter needs to be replaced
Need help. Can not find a replacement one. Only OEM and they are asking $5K for both sides.
Called around to 5 different Muffler shops and they say that there are no after markets Catalyic Converters for this car.
Any one else with this problem?

Hello Das,
I have the check engine light on. My mechanic said that the error code was of the Catalyic converter.
Will the straight pipe get rid of the check engine light, also will I be able to pass smog when the time comes?
Have 106K miles on the car already. Not sure if secondary or primary but guess it is the primary.

You can easily put race cats on and many of us do this all the time. They cost about 80 bucks each/

I installed a set by Random Technologies on my S600 after one side went bad...they were very nice quality and inexpensive (not a combination you usually get). Dealer wanted $4K to do one side! The RT cats are all stainless steel, and my car has passed emission testing with flying colors for the last 4 years. Had a local racecar fabrication shop do the install.
