Cayenne Turbo or S55
MB dealer gave me a smoking deal with the new S55 making the price for the S55 and the Cayenne at the same level.
So what do you think guys?
Thank s for the input

I have to ask what kind of price you got on the S55 and if you could hook me up with an SL55
Cayenne turbo is just the more luxurious version of the VW Tourag! It even shares some of the VW parts inside. I've driven it once for a few blocks, yes, the car is VERY fast, but also VERY BIG. The coolest thing about the Cayenne is the floor mats. It has an aluminum "Porsche" plate on it.
Regarding the S55 the dealer told me that he will take my brother CL55 02 model (3000 Km on it) and I pay the difference Dhs145,000 = $40,000
My brother will take the E55
I however would wait a little while and buy the S65 (if I must sell the E55).

Only problem is that you'll have to wait till March to get a Cayenne Turbo (all sold out) and you'll need to keep the stock 18" wheels and the off-road package for desert use.
If you have no intention of going off-road, get the S55. It will have better resale value.
I just decided to pick up a G55 from Gargash and am trading in my BMW 745i. Hopefully I'll get a similar deal.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Cayenne does 0-62.5 mph 5.6 secs 0-125mph 22.4 secs
Car and driver got the Cayenne turbo to grip to 0.82g on a 300ft skid pan, however Road and Track got the S55 to 0.89g on the same test (more than they got for the E55
) I did consider the Cayenne briefly, but when we went to look at one it does have unusual looks, its actually quite small inside, we weren't given a test drive
but were allowed a ride in the bosses one, not as quiet as the mercs at speed and the ride wasn't as good, but having said that it was good for an SUV, doesn't feel as "special". Then a pal told me his friend had taken back a Cayenne because over a run of 1300miles he had averaged 8.0mpg !! I test drove the E55 467bhp and the S55 493bhp before buying an S55.
In a straight line the s55 is almost as quick 0nly .2 secs slower to 125mph. In practice on the road you don't notice any difference in acceleration between the cars, although sometimes the extra weight of the S55 gives it better traction and on the test drives over similar routes it was easier to get the E55s traction control to intervene.
The E55 has a bit better steering with a bit more feel and seems to transfer its weight a fraction better on a succession of tight left, right, left bends. But the S55's handling is very good, in fact its amazing given the size of the car, it has a bit better ride, it's a little quieter, has more space inside, is abit more luxurious and has more equipment/features as standard.
On the track with three similar drivers, the E55 should slowly pull away from the S55 as long as its twisty , but both these cars would leave the Cayenne for dead (especially as every few laps it would have to stop for gas) .
Buy the S55

There is no way the S55 will have a better resale value specially when the S65 is just around the corner. Actually, the MB dealership in Dubai would'nt offer the S55 for the price of a Cayenne turbo had he not known that the price of the Merc will be dropping by year end.
Today some dealers are offering the S55 for the same price as an E55!!. No need to wonder.
Resale values in Dubai suck. There's no way to avoid the fact that luxury German automobiles have limited resale value there because the market is saturated. Heck, 250 new Audi A8's will flood the market in a month when the World Bank / IMF summit ends. I saw them all lined up outside the Audi dealership near my house last night.
You should just buy which ever one you like best. I'm buying a G55 even though I know the Kompressor version is just around the corner. I don't need that much power in a 4x4 and I'm not willing to pay the 15-30,000 Euro premium for the Kompressor model. The resale value of my G55 will probably be lower because a more powerful model will be available, but cars are never a good investment anyway.
I Just have to say...
0-100 In less than 4.4 secs
S65
Why do you feel that a powerful car is a sporty car? Mercedes-Benz seems to think that by putting these "powerful" engines in these "non-sporty" chassis will make them sporty cars...with a slushbox??
your the best kain!
ANYWAY. My vote is go for the S55. Its an amazing car true the S65 will be there some time soon but for now you should go for the S55 IMHO.
Kain-
Nobody suggested in this thread that the Mercs (S55/65) are sporty cars!!!!!! We are just comparing an S55 with a Cayenne turbo.... So chill out

Like I said, nobody in THIS THREAD suggested that the S class is a sporty car, regardless of what MB thinks..
