Big front tires?
Has anyone tried fitting a 275/30-21 on the front of the S-class?
21" tire selection is a bit limited. The next smallest size is 245/35-21 and it is a little stretched on the front rim (Carlsson Ultra-lights 21x9). I tried a 265/35-21 and it rubbed the upper control arm badly.

W221 Front tire fitment update
Just an update. Fitted a set of Continentals in 275/30-21 to the front of my 2007 S65, and they work perfectly. So....just for information sake, you CAN fit a 275/30-21 to the FRONT without any clearance issues. Wheels are Carlsson 2/11 ultralites 21x9 with 40mm offset.

I put the wheels with tires mounted on the scale. Keep in mind that the Carlssons 2/11 Ultras are wearing much larger rubber....Front 255/35-20 vs 275/30-21 and Rear 275/53-20 vs 295/30-21. Also the stock tires were worn out, and the tires on the Carlssons are brand new...probably a insignificant weight difference? Maybe half a pound?
Stock front 33 lbs
Carlsson front 26 lbs
Stock rear 39lbs
Carlsson rear 31lbs
