HELP PLEASE. ABC Suspension Issue 2003 S55 AMG

Hello everyone,

I have a 2003 S55 AMG that I recently purchased about a month ago! The guy that I bought it from was a huge MB enthusiast and took very good care of the car.

The car is currently lowered on lowering links and has a clean lip wing, other than those things, everything else is stock.

The other day I was warming up my car and after about 5 minutes the front of the car lifted (no lights were on). After I noticed this, I pressed the button and the car lowered right away. Anyone have any idea why the front end of the car keeps raising while the car is just sitting?

Your help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Jon

My car has been doing the same thing since I bought it 4 years ago....after some research I was told its the abc computer doing it....if I let it sit idle the car will slowly rise until its all the way up...then the computer will put it back down and the loop begins again....however... I rebuilt my front valve body a few weeks ago and now the car slowly lifts unevenly....back is higher than the front....so my conclusion is that leaky valve bodies are causing this... I will rebuilt my back valve body in a few weeks and then I will see what happens....good luck with yours

2003 S55
My 2003 S55 exhibited exact same behavior for the past year or so. For me, it was my rear end which would rise slowly then drop to normal height while in park with engine running. I've cleaned/rebuilt both front and rear valves but that didn't address the behavior. I finally replaced the ABC module (sourced a nice used one from ebay) and the behavior is gone. For me it was the ABC module but I would definitely recommend cleaning/rebuilding your front and rear valves first before replacing your ABC module.

If you do replace the ABC module, perform the steps below to get everything initialized.
1. Disconnect the (-) negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove and replace the ABC module located under the hood, driver side towards firewall.
3. If you have MB Star, connect it, calibrate the plunger travel sensors and load adjustments. Make sure the car is on the leveled surface. Some say you don't need to do this but for me everything got leveled out correctly with these steps performed.

Good luck!

Merc S55 AMG Kompressor 2003 & S320 1999
Calibration specifications

I try to recalibrate my 2003 W220 S55 AMG Kompressor with Hydraulic ABC. I am using a Launch Diagnostic System. I have been told this car needs calibrations for a slow speed configuration, a medium Speed configuration and a high speed configuration. Can anybody provide me with Level Sensor Voltage (F&R), Level sensor distances in mm (R&F), Inclination angles (R&F) and Travel Plunger distances in mm (R&F).
The car is designed to lower itself how faster you go (Aerodynamics)
I get data for S500 & S600 but they have only one setting. I put that in and it accept it (Low speed) and then the Diagnostic system moves to the Medium and High and I cannot get passed those setting (Calibration Failure). I have understood that only after you get past all calibrations successfully the data provided gets loaded up into the Suspension Controller as the new "References". if one configuration setup fails the controller simply refers back to existing data in the controller. Please correct me when I am wrong here. These cars are very rare and information is difficult to come by and quite frankly the Dealers here do not understand the system very well for this car, hence the need to do it myself.
