Trying to get back into a Mercedes...W220 S65?
I'm spending the next month trying to research and figure out which car to go for. Right now I'm looking into the S65 this time with a few others.
I've already had a 2006 S55 and absolutely love it so I'm familiar with most issues the W220 have like the ABC.
I wanted to see what all of you have seen with the engine. Is the V12 problematic at all? Do companies still offer warranties for these cars? I'm looking at one that is actually at a Mercedes dealership so I asked them. I'll see what they have to say. Having one without a warranty would obviously not be very smart
I guess if I get too much negative feedback I may have to look harder into the E55.

Both good cars, e55 and s65. Having owned one for almost 2 years now, I would say warranty is your call because as with any car anything that isn't common can go wrong. I had a transmission issue (same 722.6 transmission as the e55, s55, etc) and opted to just have it fully rebuilt with a warranty and all. The s600/s65 motors are known to have the coil packs go out around 60k miles. Being 10 years old already if the work hasn't been done it will probably need to be done (around $4000 +/- job). I love the car and will probably keep it for a very long time!
