Driving to work, the car started driving like a boat in rough seas. I thought maybe a tire went down. It was hard to drive, all over the road. I stopped on the side of the road and the suspension or part of it decided to do its own rodeo. Yes, the strut(s) were going up and down like those freaking cars with hydraulic levers.
No codes, no warning lights. Toggling between Sport mode and comfort mode had no effect. Got to work, gingerly. Shut it down, restarted it and it seemed fine. Of course, it was just idling.
Any one know what the hell could have caused that?

Well, seems there is a recall for this problem...
Except my VIN is excluded....LOL

Mine does the same thing. Left rear goes up and down while driving. Quite alarming at 80-90. Is there a recall on faulty sensors in the 215 cl?

Yes, but it is VIN specific. You'll need to call MB and give them your VIN. They'll let you know if yours is included in the recall.Originally Posted by 02cl55amg

How much is the new part? Hopefully you saved that money on the way in. I mean, the TSB and Recall lists should be on everyone's pre-purchase checklist for any used car. For me it's just part of the buying decision. And most importantly, I'm glad you didn't injure yourself or any others! I couldn't imagine this car rodeo'ing down the road...Originally Posted by VinnyT

I got both sensors(OE)for $240. They suggest replacing them in pairs. One on each shock tower.Originally Posted by maw1124
