Trunk open/close issues

Trunk open/close issues
My trunk was working fine last time I used it (fob open and trunk lid button close). Today I tried to open with the fob and nothing.....I "think" I hear a noise but no click or open. I opened it with the key and tried the lid button close which seemed to work ok but its not pulling down and latching all the way. The trunk exterior lid buttons dont open it either..............any ideas?
UPDATE
I found out today that my door soft close feature doesnt work along with the actual door locks themselves........vacuum pump took a crap perhaps?

Air pump in the trunk.
Remove driver's side (left) trunk interior sidewall carpet wall trim and look for pump and air distribution block. Try running the door open/close functions again and listen for the hissssss.

Yep I think thats it......pump motor runs tho.....removed it and checked inside......had half a cup of water in there.....also noticed 2 or 3 of the solenoids/coils are burnt black (maybe from water short) so Ill have to cobble together a repair using another pump.....
