I think I'm going to bite the bullet and order these. I was waiting for someone to have them installed and report on the overall quality before getting it myself, but looks like I'm going to be that person! After I deal with this last misfire issue I'm having, I'll definitely order the Ceika coilovers and see how it goes.

On the driver side under the hood there is a fuse box. You can unplug the can bus for the abc and the error becomes white and can be cleared by hitting R

at a minimum please install a front sway bar!
Thank you so much for that info ! And awesome thread btw extremely helpful !!
I will let you know how the Ceikas are as soon as I install them !

Good to know! What are your spring rates, valving, and other customizable options going to be?

Also, here is another thread by g60wall with a lot of information on the conversion process to help you out on your journey:

Let us know how everything goes! Good luck!

I noticed that after installing the sway bar in the front, it is hitting the ABC lines in the driver's side wheel well. I believe that this is what is responsible for the clunk sound that comes from that side when I go in and out of driveways. I will either try to remove that line or just leave it.

Coilover conversion

I know this post is very old and I apologize if you have already answered this. I have 2003 MB s600 TT. I did the YSR coilover conversion some years ago also and ended up with similar results as yours...too bouncy at higher speeds and when you hit a dip at those speeds, my back end would bounce so high I felt the car was out of control. I ended up with Strutmasters. While I do not like the ride height, it feels way more in control at higher speeds...at least in a straight line. I don't have sway bars on it yet.

So, I have two questions, did you use a w220 S500 front sway bar for yours and did you ever find a good coilover set/system?

Only problem is there is no literature on the bilstein kit so will probably go ceika. Going to up the spring rate to from 14 kg front 10kg rear to 18F 14R with the rally valve set up from cieka. The sway bar retrofit really make an abc delete viable

VVK makes coilovers now for the W220. I wish they were paying me to say this but they aren't but that's what a lot of the guys with SL's are running and they seem to think that they are the best. I have an S55 and the suspension has been such a disappointment for a car that I otherwise like. When I did the conversion, the VVK's where not available so I also went with the YSR. I've never gone outside to see my car laid out on the ground but I am really disappointed with how it handles anything other than perfectly smooth pavement.

My car has over 100k miles so I'm not exactly sure that I want to spend several more thousand dollars to replace what is on there when they do there job, just poorly. I run both front and rear sway bars although it looks like the VVK's do have custom sway bars that should provide better handling than the OEM ones. I'm not going back to ABC because it's just not worth it at this point.

You should just go to the junkyard and pull them off a car though
