Howdy,

Does anyone know the service interval that spark plugs need to be changed-out at on the M156 engine in the S63?

Also, has anyone tried any alternative brands/models?

From the factory the car comes fitted with NGK's, laser iridium - model: ILZKAR7A10 (approx. $10-11 per plug).

Research suggests there are a couple of alternatives:

Autolite XP5682 Iridium XP

Denso (3442) FXE22HR-11 Iridium Long Life

Denso (4712) IXEH22TT Iridium TT


Cost is not the driver here, just curious to know if people have experimented with the alternatives and if there were any positive/negative performance effects.

My SA said it is every 60k for spark plugs.
