I cleaned my engine with water and about 2 hours later at mcdonalds drive through i get a warning "coolant (with the logo thing) Visit workshop. I already did a little research and i am leaning towards the fan. While in motion i never have temp issues but at idle the temp will creep up to 90 and maybe a little above thats when i get the message on the screen. Is there a fuse i can check for the fan? Anything basic that water could have caused? Let me know.

I would check and top up the readout. I had this message before after a long drive and just topped it up and nothing has come of it. If you see coolant or residuals on the front of the motor you might need a new water pump. Another big maintenance item would be replacing all the idler pulleys and the tensioner. They will die and leave you stranded. No, tensioners wouldn't have any affect on low coolant.

No, shouldn't have no affect just a first thing on the to do list when getting one of these cars ( i have 3 w220 s55,s600 and a S65) Also I would get a new ABC filter installed asap.
OK found some information, when i put the key in the 3rd postion right before the resistance to start it the fan will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off, WILL NOT RUN WITH THE ENGINE ON. Relay maybe?
