P0140 code on 2003 S55 AMG
Getting P0140 on 2003 S55 AMG
1. Went to relay "N" on passenger side under hood fuse box
2. Used a small hobby screwdriver to open relay from one corner
3. Removed cover of relay
4. Made contacts and heard secondary pump start
5. Relay plug has battery standing on two posts and ground on one
6. Checked for ground coming from controller on post when engine first
first starts - Had ground
7. Removed air hose from supercharger ducting and made relay contacts
8. Checked for airflow coming from pump to actuators
9. Checked vacuum going into solenoid - found lines were not in correct
location - line with vacuum was going to actuator fitting. Line going
to actuator was on vacuum in port on solenoid. Corrected line
terminations. Top solenoid port going to "y" fitting, going to two actuators.
Bottom solenoid port going to contant vacuum.
10. Did cold motor start and noticed for relay operation. Relay pulling up.
Pump not coming on until contact was pushed in.
11. Found relay contacts had burned out. Burned out caused by solenoid
line messup. Pump probably running constantly at times.
12. Replaced relay
