Accumulator or Pulsation Damper?
I recently successfully replaced my tandem abc power steering pump. Not a fun job by any means. I've been doing some research and i believe either my pulsation damper is bad, or an accumulator. I'm getting an annoying hum, or groan at low rpms. Cannot hear during idle only during acceleration/deceleration. The noise seems to peak at 1400rpm and drowns out around 2000 rpm. If the noise is present and i put the car in neutral the noise disappears. Also the noise seems to be coming from the drivers side near the floor board. When i looked at a diagram i noticed the pulsation damper is on the passenger side for the W220/215? So would it be the front accumulator then? I appreciate the help as always everyone! Also the system had no codes when i replaced the pump and ran a rodeo. No codes present on the dash since i replaced the pump. Have not had it on a SDS since last week though.
