ABC & Suspension Issues.

I have a 2006 S55 AMG with 163,000 miles. Recently, the Active Body Control warning was activated in my car. I took car to dealer and they said the system would not maintain pressure for them to complete the diagnostics, so I needed a pump and after replacing the pump, the diagnostic could be completed. The pump was replaced and then they determined the left strut was leaking. So, the strut was replaced. The work cost me $6000.

After picking up my car and driving approximately 1/4 mile from dealership, I hear a quick bell sound as I drove over a bump. It was a intermittent sound with no warnings on dash. I took it back to dealer and they test system and now the say, I need to replace the accumulator because one is leaking at another $3000. I don't have confidence what they are saying. Has anyone experience this problem?

3k for a accumulator ? I would RUN from that dealer and NEVER return. If you are a DIY'er you can do all 4 for about $600.

Parts needed

2203270115 for front driver side and rear passenger side - $115 each
2203200415 for the rear return line - $243
2203270215 for front passenger side - $130

will take less than 2 hours. Make sure all 4 wheels are off the ground and wait 15 minutes for the system to equalize.

Have fun with the rest of the money......

Good Luck.

Thank you PillDrive your information is very helpful. I felt like the dealer was suspect.

WOW!! Total of $9K was spent? I will never take my car to the dealer. That total of $9k is probably worth more then my 2004 s55. When people take there car to the dealer and find out the total, most will just dump there car and take a loss. I currently have the same issue. I will rebuild both valve blocks and change accumulators.
