Tuning and how long the tranny lasts

I have a lot of other highly modded cars. But I have always Left my 07 S65 AMG alone. (have had it for 4 years now) I have read a lot about the stock trans not being happy with more power than stock. and I know Renntech does an upgrade for the clutch packs in the stock trans But im trying to avoid it if I can because of cost. What luck have you guys on here had with just a Tune (Renntech or eurocharged) and TCM tune? How long has your trans lasted without issues? I have Taken my car to the track before and prob will in the future possibly with 18's and slicks next season. Thank you in advance for input and taking the time to respond.

Regardless of adding a tune or not, taking any car to the track will beat up the tranny. Adding more torque to it will only hasten its death if not beefed-up.
