Hello all! I'm back in a Mercedes! I purchased an 09 S63 yesterday and have a few questions about it. The first question is that when my headlights are set to OFF the headlights still work, is this normal? The second question is can I get rid of the round fog lights for the LED style bar across the top of the bumper or do they not offer it? The previous owner added an led drl along with the round fog light and it looks hideous. I need to change it but don't know what route would look best, factory round fogs or led set up. What do you think?
Congrats. I too have a 09 S63 I just purchased about a month ago. Pic included for showing off LOL. The headlights you are talking about are actually DRL, only the 2010 S models got the LED DRL like the ones the previous owner attempted to put on. If you want that 2010 look you will have to change the Headlights, Bumper and a couple more things from what I have read. Not an easy task.
As far as removing the fog lights and installing same size LED type unit that you would use as DRL, that would be nice but would require some re-wiring so as the module would know which DRL to turn on. Personally I would just remove the LED strips the last guy put on,
