Hey guys, I am new to this forum, mainly joined to see if I could get some help with a charging issue. Have a 2001 S55 AMG N/A. So my issue is the alternator is not charging the battery, Battery has been replaced twice, replaced the voltage regulator tested alternator which is currently putting out 11.9-12v. Some things I have noticed is a connector on the back of the alternator which is loose but doesn’t seem to effect voltage output when wiggled. My blower fan isn’t currently working in the front Had the car go down to 8 volts and die on me while driving, I’ve seen a few things on other forums about some vent near the hood that leaks water into the cabin and destroys modules/junction box fuses but I can’t seem to access the fuse to check it. Alternator looks pretty old but I’d really like to confirm it’s nothing else before spending $150-$300 on a new one. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
