Back in the game
Hello All, It's been too long since I've been on here. I'm back in the game with a 2008 S63 AMG. My 2nd AMG 5th S Class. Feel free to hit me up. I will ask questions from time to time and make comments. I'm getting it back in shape with a full blown service. Brakes and rotors included. I'm looking to chip tune the 156 engine. Any suggestions or comments are welcomed. As its always been said AMG= All Money Game!!

Welcome back. I think the answer is don’t waste your time and money tuning the M156 NA engine. People will sell you one. Most go with oetuning after research. Well, most I know anyway. But the jury is out on whether it helps much. That’s on EClass cars, so I doubt you’ll even feel it in the SClass. I say getting it running top notch, enjoy it for what it is, which is plenty fast enough. I think the tune is $1200, which buys a lot of fuel system cleaner and spark plugs on an M156.

I’m leaning towards a regular tune up. The previous owner had sporadic service done on it. However it does perform as expected. I’ve got a burner account with funds set aside to get it back in shape. It’s slightly off in power pick up which tells me that a new set of plugs and everything else needed will get it back to peak performance. Of all the ones I’ve had, this one is my favorite.

Update... I've taken it to the shop for a tune up flushes and filters. They did find one engine mount leaking. I instructed them to replace all of them. No need to go one for one on the engine mounts. It'll be a problem later if I replaced them one at a time. Slowly and surely I'm getting it back into peak performance condition. Next action will be brakes and rotors. Where do I find a Bluetooth to stream music? The media chord in the glove compartment is rather annoying to connect to my Iphone. Any suggestions is welcomed. .

Latest info...It's out of the shop from regular PM and running smooth. Next action is brakes, rotors, rear axle gear oil change, and control arms replaced. After that's done it should operate to the standards of what an AMG is supposed too... Total bill for this PM. $2850.51.
