2002 S55 With Supercharger
Kind of dumb question I guess, but did any 2002 model year S55s come with the supercharged variant engine?
Wikipedia says yes, but craigslist says nope.
Kinda prospecting a S55 but I want the comand 2.5 system

Model year 2003 was the first time the Supercharger was offered on the W220 S-Class by MB USA. I know because the announcement in calendar year 2002 that the engine would be upgraded with an additional 150hp prompted me to put down a deposit.
You won’t find a Kompressor on a 2002 S class unless somebody went to an aftermarket tuner. I think the SL55 Kompressor showed up in 2002 model year. Check with those guys in their forum.

Command unit
The 2003 S55AMG (USA spec) was the last model year that used the Command system that requires CDs for the Navigation system’s regional maps. There is a single CD slot in the head end Command unit in the dash where you insert the Nav map CD for the region where you are driving. USA spec came with 7 Nav CDs to cover USA and Canada (I think). You have to swap out the Nav CDs as you drive from one part of the country to another.
There is a separate 6-disk CD player tucked into the trunk’s left rear trim panel for additional music CDs. You load up to 6 music CDs in a cartridge that you can manually swap when you get tired of listening to the same old 6 CDs.
2004 MY was the first to get the Command with the Nav maps all on a single DVD for USA. I recommend searching for 2004+ if that is important to you.
