S55 Ac compressor bypass/delete ?
While replacing the compressor the first time it seized on me, my mechanic noticed a sizable whole in my Ac condenser from an accident the previous owner was involved in (unknown to me). He said I would be able to drive the car and run heat, but urged me to repair the condenser as well.
I did not repair the condenser as it was winter in my area, and opted to take the car with just the compressor replaced. It is now 5,000 miles later and my A/c compressor is beginning to seize up on me again.
I have read on forms it is possible to run the car by bypassing the Ac compressor pulley entirely as a temporary fix. I have also seen “A/c compressor bypass pulleys” sold but none fit an 03’ S55 amg. A bypass pulley is a great option for me as it is still winter and I do not need A/c. I ran/ rerouted a shortened serpentine belt around all necessary pulleys, minus the ac compressor and it seems to run great, except the serpentine belt barely rubs along the Ac compressor pulley, obviously causing wear to the belt.
My questions are:
Does anyone know of an “A/c compressor bypass pulley” for an 03’ S55 amg?
Is it possible to remove the pulley off of the A/c compressor unit?
Is it possible to remove the entire ac compressor without having to tear down the front end?
I will be completely repairing the A/c compressor and condenser come spring time, but I would love to bypass the compressor entirely in the mean time and maybe even avoid the headache in the future.... Any help or opinion is greatly appreciated!

The reason you lost another pump most likely is that hole in the condenser. After putting in a new pump you must evacuate the system and make sure it is clean and free of any moisture. If not the pump will fail again as you have learned.
The front pulley on the ac pump from what I can remember can be removed.
Good luck
