Good day pals,
I hope you are all doing well in these hard times.
I have a 2011 S63 AMG and I'm looking for the Auxiliary battery.
It definitely is not under dash in driver's side behind the fuse box, as in regular S550s.
Does anybody has information on the auxiliary battery location for this car? Any information will be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
Starter battery under the hood.
Coach battery in the trunk behind board across front of trunk.
Rascal of a panel to remove. No tools required though you may utter a foul word wrestling it out.
Many thanks for your kind warning amgs63dbx.
I verified the VIN and no A57 option in my car. However, I submitted this thread because I have a warning "Auxiliary Battery Malfunction" thus I guess there must be an auxiliary battery somewhere, that in 2011 S63 is definitely NOT behind the fuses box under dash in drivers' side. I guess code A57 refers to one large single battery in the hood as opposite to the previous configuration with two large batteries. I think in single battery configuration 2011 S63 AMG there is always a smaller auxiliary battery hence, please, have this in mind in case you get the warning in the future.
The Auxiliary battery in the 2011 S63 AMG (W221) is not behind the fuses box under dash on drivers' side. In this model it's located in the trunk and its original P/N is A 004 982 00 08 (now replaced by A 000 982 96 08). It took me quite some time to figure it out hence I decided to make this short movie to help other fellows in the same quest.
To reach it you have to first take the fridge out of the trunk if equipped (no tools needed), then retire the fridge frame in the rear panel (four T20 screws) and then carefully remove the back fiber glass panel (again no tools required). To remove the battery you will need a 10mm ratchet wrench. It was pretty easy and took me five minutes.
