2009 S63 AMG
Interchangeable Parts

I’m hoping someone from the group can help me establish whether certain parts are actually cross platform exchangeable based on physical dimensions and properties or experience, as opposed to purely following parts listings.

C63 Long tube headers

Will C63 long tube headers for any year specific model also fit a 2009 S63AMG with the same M156 motor?

Will the front and/or rear brake calipers from a W222 S63AMG fit onto a W221 S63, with or without a hub swap.

Thanks to anyone who may be able to offer guidance.

Best,

Simon

I can appreciate wanting to rid your car of the (garbage heavy) two piston sliding calipers Mercedes insulted us with by giving the range topping car that junk!

Ditto the stupidly heavy brake rotors that at least drop off the hubs.

Are the brake rotors bigger on the 222 car? Eyeballing them on one parked next to my car says..... not likely.

Seems like the carbon rotors would be the real upgrade with solid calipers.

I tried to test fit 220 rotors and calipers on my 221 S-65 and they did not fit as the 221 uses a larger outer wheel bearing ect et-al.

Count me as another who is interested in if 222 parts will fit as the Brembo kit I fitted to my 221 chassis S-65 is only moderately less horrible then stock parts.... Rotors are cooked. Something about 5200lbs making a LOT of heat attempting to stop from high speeds. They WILL stop the car from three digits but are howling in protest with a shaking steering wheel once hot. Better then stock brakes that when asked to stop firmly from three digits were mostly done with braking by 50MPH. To the driver that was not amusing.
