Yep, thats the one I went to see, Whitefield is my local dealer, they're all a bunch of asssholes, but what can you do? The head of sales there apparently thinks it can beat a lot of cars on the track...

s65AMG, sl500
One in the paper last week (UK) for £125k already
On a medium to long track it would beat most things not because of the handling dynamics but just becasue it is so so powerful as shown in the swedish post 0-200kph = 0-125mph 13.22 secs, thats 1.5 to 2 seconds quicker than a 911 turbo.
I've got past people in "better" track cars EVO's, TVRs, M3s', Lotus Elise, the odd Porsche ,etc on track, although the S55 can't handle as well it's still pretty good with pretty good grip (amazing for such a monster) and it means it's not that much slower in the corners, and then you can just catch and out accelerate them down the straights.
It's also fairly easy to drive very hard, if the TVRs were as easy to drive they should be much quicker but people seem to find it hard to get the best out them.

The new 600s are 6.0 liter bi-turbos. I thought the 65s were 6.5 liter bi-turbos.
As for tracking the S..... Top Gear had a CL65 (which handles no worse, if not better than an S65) and it was pitiful. Despite all that power, it was just too damn big and heavy. That's ok though b/c the 65s belong on the Autobahn, not the track.
