S55 AMG W220 Temp Sensor for Cooling Fan

Anyone know where the temp switch is that would tell the car when to turn the coolant fans on is located? I believe the fan motor is still good and the engine temp is reading accurate but fans still won’t turn on when needed. I’m thinking there has to be a second coolant temp sensor besides the one that tells the gauge how hot the coolant is... one that tells the fans to kick on and off. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

I only know of the temp sensor just below the supercharger pulley. That will give engine temp and send a signal to the computer to turn the fan on.
Have you checked the fuse or relay? You could swap the relay with another one and see if that helps.

I haven’t checked the relay but haven’t seen an exact fuse box layout that looks the same. Is there a good diagram or picture of it? Also the sensor under the supercharger pulley does that also tell the gauge in the car what the temp is by chance? If so I don’t think that one is bad.

The temp sensor under the supercharger pulley will provide temp to your guage on the dash. I do not know of another temp sensor, I could be wrong. The sensor under the pulley is called temperature sensor/sender.
As far as the relay layout, consult the owner's manual if you have it or search the forum as I am pretty sure there is a thread on fuse/relay locations.

It's called a coolant temperature sensor. $25 part OEM on ecstuning.com... video is trash but (1) it answers the OP question; and (2) shows the correct engine.
