On my 03 S55 my right rear door will not open. I have checked all linkages that I can see with scope and can hear the door lock move with either handle, from the inside and outside. The lock control still works. I have tried pulling real hard while holding the handles and still wont open. I can not get the inside panel off because its behind both side of the door. I have also sprayed a can of WD 40 in the lock from inside and topside of door. The window will role up/down but you cant see anything. All other doors work fine. Does anyone know how to get the door open?
I had this same issue on the driver's rear - the soft close mechanism is broken and is preventing the door from opening. I think the dealer charged me $600 to get the door open and fix the soft close with minimal damage (completely unseen) to the original door panel. Hope this helps - cheers! MH
yep rear right gone on mine you have to replace.....and you are saying you cant open from the inside handle ...so yes the lining has to be pulled off on the inside.
you can buy some on ebay brand new or some from ebay second hand which I am about to get fitted...looks in very good condition and cost me $120 delivered to Australia.
