Reapplying the Silver AMG Backrest Insignia?

This sounds like a novice question (and it probably is) however the oval, silver AMG insignias on the backrest of the front seats have (before my ownership) are no longer attached to the seat. The leather is actually in very fine condition considering the age and mileage, and the two holes where the AMG designation attaches to the seat is obvious and are not stretched or damaged. I have two new ones to install, and they have two prongs that I presume simply are inserted into the two holes. They are a few three inches or so I length, however I do not know a way to secure them once if they were just installed by pressing them into place.

It would make one think that behind the leather the flexible prongs fold to fasten them on, but I am the first to admit I haven't tried my hand at upholstery which means 1) I am not a big fan of the idea of damaging the leather to get to the back of where the may fasten, and 2) I did very gently attempted to insert the prongs into the holes and was met with resistance.

While I do not see the massaging seat bladders being that high inside the backrest of the seat, I don't want to puncture anything either.

Therefore, I though I would consult with the experts as I feel sure some have needed to do this before

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Glad to see you're installing them! And honestly I'm pretty sure that's all you have to do. I was surprised as well with how easily it was to remove. I would expect a little resistance when pushing it in since when you put the new logo pins in it won't be in the exact same hole as the one made before. Taking them out I didn't have to do anything particular so I wouldn't think you would when putting them in

Don’t know

But would also like to learn what you find out. I have one that fell out. The prongs broke off.
