08 S63 M156 hard start issue - please watch youtube video!
Hello all,
I have an issue with starting my 08 S63 AMG. I just finished rebuilding the entire motor and the issue is still present. This issue has been present even before the rebuild, and even during the previous owners ownership. When I go to start it on a cold start, it just clunks. Its as if the starter is struggling to turn it over. Maybe the starter is cutting out from the computer or something is not letting the starter motor spin freely. Eventually it turns over and fires right up. On warm starts after it's at operating temperature, it does not do it anymore...
-Replaced starter
-Replaced Crankshaft position sensor
-Fuse 21 and Relay H are good
-Fuel rail pressure is normal during all phases
-Unplugged MAF sensors so it runs default, did not help
-NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!
-Key is not an OEM mercedes key, but it starts it just fine when it does start and there is no EIS codes
- 12V starter battery in the engine compartment and 12V battery in trunk are brand new and fully charged.
-Positive starter cable to engine ground is continouous.
-Fuel injectors are new
-Coolant temp sensor is new
-ALL OEM PARTS.
It takes a handful of tries to get it started. When it is started, the engine runs excellent with NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS.
