Couple months ago I bought a S550 from the auction that had its cats stolen. Silly me at well over 1k per side, I decided to go aftermarket smog legal as per the muffler shop. Bought 4 new Bosch sensors and in the back of my mind I knew it wouldn’t be that easy to get rid of my CEL light. I’m looking for a starting point to the below codes. I took it to two different shops, one told me ECU needs to be changed, the other said maybe I got bad o2 sensors. I’m currently in possession of two new downstream sensors. Where I live, I have not heard of anyone using STAR and all mechanics here uses Autel scanners as far as I know. Where should I start?
I finally got some time to get under the car and check out the wiring. Without cutting the OEM insulation that goes over the o2 factory harness, I could push it back on both ends for all and can’t seem to see any break, it’s almost like it was never touched during the robbery. I did notice one thing that stood out. The right upstream o2 sensor is different from all the others I bought. Seems like factory and wasn’t replaced when I bought 4 new ones from Rockauto. See pictures below and see if anything stands out.
