W220 S55 AMG
S55 AMG Airmatic

Hello, i own a w220 S55 AMG and are having a little trouble with the airmatic, the problems seems to be that the car doesent know its potition because non off the sensors gets any voltage when checked with diagnostics tool. Look at the picture. Any ideas on where to start?

I hope someone with detailed knowledge of the W220 suspensions will reply. I can only offer a couple of observations on the test report. The car is listed on the report as an S500, not an S55. I have no way to know if this was just a technician input error or if S500 was derived from the VIN. All W220 AMG's were built with the ABC hydraulic suspension, not Airmatic. Again, Airmatic could just be the default heading that prints on their forms. The sensors, testing procedures and values are different for ABC than Airmatic. If the fault data was just read from the OBD2 port it should be correct regardless of the terminology on the report.
Airmatic suspensions have a small, white (looks like a plastic tube), air connection to the top of the strut visible when the hood is open. ABC suspensions do not have the air line. ABC suspensions have a single combined power steering pump and ABC pump, the Airmatic cars do not have the combined pump.

From what you describe, its looks like i have Airmatic suspension, does this mean i dont have a S55 AMG? How can i confirm this?

Any MB dealer can input the VIN to their system and tell you the car details. A service advisor can do it or someone at the parts counter can as well.

...As long as your S-Class Identifies an an AMG then we have to consider it an AMG.
