Hi everyone. I have a 2007 S65 that I purchased with paint peeling on one of the wheels. I had it repainted by a local shop who swore that all Mercedes wheels were the same silver color. Well, he was obviously wrong. I took it to another shop who visually matched it and did a great job painting the wheel, but as you can see in the picture (front wheel), it isn't perfect. I've tried to call Mercedes to get the code on my wheel and they told me the following: Wheels are 20-inch diameter. Paint code 9765 - Titanium Silver variant of 789 is possible.
I checked this against local shops and that didn't make sense to them. Buying a new wheels isn't an option. So how do I find the perfect color to paint this wheel like my others? I love the color and would like it to match.
Thanks for your help. I called another shop and they gave me the same code, without the variant. Should "9765" be all a shop needs to match the color? I'm not familiar with how paint codes work.
