Help: Removing the headliner
2008 W221 S63.
I'm in the process of replacing my sunroof frame (long story documented here) and I'm stuck removing the headliner. Specifically, where the Alcantara headliner is attached to the sunroof opening. It seems to be wedged in this lip/binding here:
I'm following WIS, but the instructions simply read, "Loosen roof paneling (1) from sliding roof frame.", which for non-Alcantara headliners is pretty straightforward. Just pull it down as it's lightly wedged in a different fashion. The Designo Alcantara is different.
I want to do this the right way and I especially don't want to bend, break, or tear anything as a replacement headliner is expensive.
Anyone know how to get this to release?
Thanks!
