S63 ABC SUSPENSION (NEED HELP)

Hello all,

it’s coming to the point in my s63’s life where I need to decide to replace the abc system with either itself or coil overs. I cannot afford 2k per strut so I’ve been looking at RMT or an arnot replacement. Any advice or testimonies from people who have done this is greatly appreciated. I would have to do the job myself. I’ve been looking at YouTube video and resources but I haven’t found stuff like where to get the rodeo mode software or how to repressurize the system. I’m coming here today in hopes that anyone has resources or have done this before and can point me in the right direction. It’s an amazing car that I’m not willing to give up yet so I’m doing everything I can to make it work. Thank you.

Arnott is the way to go, if you can still find one of their rebuilds. They stand behind their product.

Obviously not. You need to see if they have ABC struts and buy those.

Understand, this isn't trivial work. If you replace ABC components, including struts (at least on the w220), you need to do a ride-height calibration which requires a dealership or a very good independent shop. I would consult with either the dealership or a good independent mechanic that works on mercedes.

OP what specifically is WRONG with ABC in your car? ABC in your 221 car is much better then what is fitted to the 220 cars. MB learned a LOT and applied that as improvements for the 221.

We don’t just replace the whole suspension system cuz something needs a repair.

Any thoughts of coil overs are a fool’s errand that will leave you with a foul handling car that you have lit a bunch of money afire to make it that way.

Arnott ABC struts (yes; plural) I ordered in the past arrived with metal shavings in the spot we hook up the hydraulic hose. Buyer beware.
