Hi, i traded my 2000 S430 and $1300 for a 2002 S55 AMG and the dash cluster seems to not have any light. The gauges still work, speed, temp, rpms, and lights still show up in accesory mode, but there is no light to see my screen etc. When i look really close I can kind of see the screen but barley. Is it a fuse or do i need a new cluster and if its a fuse whats the fuse and location?
I just had my instrument cluster fixed (same issues) my odo-pro.com. It was $159 and they replaced some transistors and transformers. I highly recommend Peter at Odo-Pro.com
You will have to use radio removal keys to remove the cluster. Don't use the cheap keys - they won't pull the cluster out. You need to use the heavier duty keys.
