S55 Soft close endeavours
Somewhat new owner to a W220 S55 LWB - steadily documenting the light restoration (excluding the torque converter and gearbox refresh which has already been done) no stranger to taking things apart being an auto electrician and a self taught mechanic if you will!
Drivers soft close.. a topic of hot discussion as these cars age - what I suspected as a leaking air line in the door from what was audible but after removing the door lock unit it’s been identified as the silicone diaphragm.
I know there are kits for the snapped plastic housings but I funnily enough don’t have that issue I just need to replace the diaphragm inside of housing as it’s got a tear on the edge!
Has anyone got a fix, suggestion etc for it without just simply replacing the entire lock unit? I’ll happily do it required but with everything functioning on my lock, buying a second hand unit that’ll inevitably suffer the same fate I’d rather buy a new one for Mercedes!
Many thanks

May have to get creative, Super glue, Gorilla glue etc. anything to patch it that will make it work for the time being.
Good luck with the new car, they are great when everything is sorted.
