Redlining in S63 Coupe
So about a week ago, my dad finally got his dream car, an edition 1 s63 coupe. I got in the car and started revving. Without paying attention, I accidentally redlined in park for maybe 3 or 4 seconds. I turned off the car, popped the hood, and saw a wave of heat coming out. My dad did not seem to care much but it has been bothering me over the course of the week. The car drives fine and everything is normal, but have I possibly done some damage to the engine?

A "wave of heat" fine... A "wave of smoke" bad. In the future though, it's better not to rev any engine right prior to turn off...especially turbo. it's better to have them cool a bit at idle prior to shut down.
