Thanks , my detailer installed when he had the car . Im going to take it to get the bumper resprayed and when they take it off I’ll look into it . I was thinking about ordering another grille for better fitment but maybe I’ll just check out what I currently have . Did anyone happen to take off the bumper themselves ?

its not the grill, it isnt snapped in right. There might even be one or two not even be in the clip. I found some of the hooks snap in harder than others. if you do it right it will be like oem. I put my pics when I took it off in this same post

thanks , I’m going to try to take off bumper myself and reinstall the grille . I am attaching the link below , this is the grille I have . Maybe you can take a look and let me know what you think . Not sure if I should order another grille incase this fitment is off then I could put the other grille in . Thanks for your advice 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I think all the grills are made by the same mfg. Im sure one makes all these retrofit grills for all the cars. There ismt enough market to support different mfg for a 200 $ part. One thing that probably makes a difference is that the oem part is higer quality plastic and better molds. The Chinese part is just good enough to work. So the tabs and hooks may not have the same tension or same sizes to snap in like a real mb part does. Once you have it snapped in, you can tell if it is solid or not
And the hook that may be 2 or 3 mm is not as accurately molded as the MB part.
Once you take the mb part out of the clip, the clip gets pushed up and distorted, so it may not be in its original position.
The whole thing is the same with any mechanical repair. parts get old and wear and wont be the same as new. i thing these grills are fine, you just have to work with them to get it right.

thanks for all the feedback . I was able to slightly heat up the clip so it would grab better . This worked for me well and I heard everything snap in correctly . The aftermarket part clips were flush with the clip and weren’t grabbing at all . So glad this worked . Thanks again

Back on the thread 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ . Installed my grille securely. Noticing a whistle now , not sure if it’s coming from AM grille . Anyone else experiencing this ?

Bumping this !! Whistle is gone . I bought rubber backer rod 1/8” diameter and stuck it in the gap and the whistle is gone . Just wanted to share for anyone who had the same issue .
