S65 Coupe
Bentley CGT comparisons

I currently own a '19 S65 coupe and previously had an '18 S63 coupe. I'm thinking about adding the continental GT and wanted to get impressions from those who have had both the S coupe and the CGT. I did read the below thread but just trying to get as much info as possible, preferably impressions from owners as I've found that test drives don't always reflect long-term experience.

S63 AMG Cabrio
Both cars are great and also considered it 2 years ago (but upgraded from pre facelift A217 to facelift A217 instead). when driving next to each other, they are much more alike in handling, driving, etc then different. Of course different in interior and exterior looks, but both are large, 4 person coupes/convertibles in the top segment.

Since there will be no new S coupe or convertible (the new SL is really more of a GT Roadster, not an S class) I would hang on to the S63/S65. Adding a GT(C) would not add much, maybe better go a different road to eg. a Roma/Portofino or Aston Martin or McLaren etc? Then you have really 2 different cars in driving experience.

2019 S63 cabriolet / 1968 280se cabriolet / 190e 2.5 cosworth / AMG GTC Roadster
Had an S63 saloon and wanted a 4 seater cabriolet, so immediately the S63 cabriolet was top of my list as we loved our saloon.

extended test drives in the M8 and GTC, M8 was no where near the luxury.. GTC was on a par for cabin opulence and ride but was a trading on the Benetley badge a bit too much for me and funnily enough you could feel the VAG presence allot and after 40 miles you forgot you were driving something special tbh, that never happens in the S63 for me, it always feels special..

If its your thing, the S63 cabrio does the hooligan bit much much better than the bentley and i feel far more comfortable leaving it places to, far more understated which i like, if its an was an only car then i think maybe the bentley would have an edge as you might be after a tad more attention? ours is an occasional family car with the dogs so not after attention, just luxury for everyone so it works perfectly for us.

Bentley was a very good car but the V8 was not comparable to the AMG 4.0 and it was a bit ‘try hard’ if you know what i mean.

I took the Bentley back early knowing that i needed to find an S63 Cabriolet which now sits proudly on our drive next to the AMG GTC.
