Anybody knows if you can buy only the black, plastic insert that screws into the wheel (and is connected to the cap)?

Online I only see complete sets (of 4, some times also 1), that included the plastic cap with MB logo and the metal cover plate, like here:

That seems very expensive, also if I manage to buy only one, since I only need the black plastic insert for mounting the rest to the wheel.

Any thoughts?

There only find the full sets, with cap with metal plate and then also only in sets of 4.

Try to find 1, but only the plastic insert, not the cap not the metal plate (probably the most expensive part).

probibly wont find anything but a whole cap. you can call a dealer and see if they have parts.

Asked the dealer, they can only deliver the 3 parts as one (so metal plate, logo cover and plastic screw insert). Happily also as one (so not 4 at once), but still very expensive.

What I found is:

And here a guy that had the same problem and fixed it by drilling 2 holes and mounting it with 2 (of the 5) wheel nuts:

Am afraid will have to go for expensive OEM.
