Burmester High-End 3-D Question in a 2016 S63

It appears that aptX came about a decade ago, but I am not convinced that it apt HD made it into a 2016 Mercedes-Benz, although it may have came in the 2018 updates?
I tried to find details the COMAND Manual, and the Owners Manual, but details in this set of manual seem limited, while other years seem more detailed. I noticed that the MMI port has been phased out, and two full size USB ports are found in the center console, which "seems" as though they would transfer data with less loss than a Phone Bluetooth connection, but I am curious about the details. Anyone have any insight on some of these details by chance?
The car doesn't have CarPlay/Wireless CarPaly or Android Auto/Wireless Android Auto of course, so currently, it is easiest to play local audio files stored on a phone via a playlist via Bluetooth, and it might not as easy to control the music if my USB connection wants to play "everything" on my phone, ha.
I know I can download a CD to the media hard drive (I did that as a test), and copy files to an SD Card or a USB Stick, but that doesn't tell the the bit rate / codec of course. Just curious.
Thank you for any assistance!
