Battery Replacement
I am planning on having my MB dealer replace the original lithium battery on my 2016 S63 Coupe (production date 12/2015). How do I insure I receive the most recent updated replacement and not a battery that has been sitting in a warehouse for years?
Most recent part number? Will the battery have a date code?

AFAIK, there is no standard date code format used by all battery manufacturers, and some of the formats are really abstract. For a dealer installed battery, ask the service manager where the date code appears and how to interpret its format.

Update. I had my battery replaced at the dealership. They brought the new battery out for me to see before installing so I could see the label on the battery with a manufacture date of January 20, 2025. For those considering a battery replacement, be advised that the earlier batteries (mine was the OEM original battery with a vehicle production date of 12/2015) has the vent on the opposite side compared to the newest version and requires an "adapter" for the new battery to be installed correctly. I have no idea when the change was made but if you are considering a new battery you might want to confirm that the vent adapter is available if needed.
