S63 AMG stalling
We have had our S 63 AMG since February 2014 and we very much enjoy this car.
Starting around December 2015 we developed a frequent but intermittent problem that we have been unable resolve despite numerous visits to the dealer.
When the car is in "Ecco" mode and you come to a stop lets say at a traffic light, the engine turns itself off but then when you take your foot off the brake and onto the accelerator the engine actually stalls.
All the lights on the dash come on and you must now change the transmission into "park" and restart the engine.
This is annoying and very frustrating. It does not happen all the time and the dealer struggles with replicating " on demand".
There was a recall by MB on an issues that sounded exactly like this. This campaign required an engine management system update and this was performed in early December.
Oddly enough, we only noticed this issue after the update was completed.
Any thoughts on what to do next?
