Fabulous. That's my favorite S sedan interior.

The contrast in throttle programming between this one and the 2006 is dramatic. A quarter inch of tip in on the 2006 and it was off hard. A half inch of throttle quick from a stop could engage traction control. The new one, even with the 7 speed had a more lazy response to throttle tip in. It seems to take half throttle before it even moves. Most of the performance is in the last third of the throttle movement. The 2006 had a Eurocharged tune, this is so far stock. Our E63S in S+ responds more like the old 2006 S65.
At WOT the new S65 seems a fast as the tuned 2006. I have been traveling every week so other than one 130 mile trip to SD and back and one to Pasadena the car has been sitting in the garage.

Quadrobenz,

Nice. Where did you pick up the 65? Laguna? Have you driven the S63 for comparison? Reason I ask is ive been toying with trading my G63 for the 65. I know the power is minimal (and fwiw my 63 is tuned at higher output than the 65) but you simply cannot compare the allure of the V12. Im curious what you feel the difference is in power and driveability of both.

Yes, I drove an S63. It is a nice car and I was close to placing an order for a new one but then I would drive home in my old S65 and realize how nice it was. So I bought the new S65. Keep in mind we have an E63S so for two years I had been driving that and the 2006 S65. If the S63 is tuned it needs to be compared to a tuned S65 which I had. Unless one is drag racing Teslas between stop lights my opinion is the 65 is the better performing car. It has more torque in almost all real world situations and is far smoother. A V12 has 50% more power strokes per revolution than a V8. The transmission works far better in real world driving in the 65 as well.
There are not many S65's in the US without black interior. We found this in Ohio. We did not want to wait on a new one since I had sold the old 65 and the depreciation off the showroom floor is a killer on the V12's.

Congrats on the new beast. The color combo looks great and IMO you made the right choice by getting the 65 rather than the 63. Why not have four extra cylinders under the hood?!!

Thanks for sharing the pics!
