221 to 222 upgrade?
Thinking about upgrading my 2013 CPO S63 to a 2014 CPO S63. Cost is $35k plus my S for it. My S has 35,200 miles, the 2014 has 39k. The miles doesn't bother me, as I only drive about 6k/yr.
My S is pretty basic, just the illuminated doors sills and the drivers asst package.
The 14 is pretty loaded. Black exclusive nappa leather, exclusive trim package, red brake calipers, wood/leather wheel, rear seat package, warmth and comfort package, surround camera, air balance package, drivers assistance package, Burm 3D sound and 19" black multispoke wheels. A MSRP of 163k.
Is it worth the price to upgrade?

I think about this same thing every day! Can't wait to see what you think if you do this. For me, I've decided, there's no compelling reason just yet. For you, the car you're looking at has so many cool goodies on it that your current car doesn't have. If that's what you prefer, and you have the money, go for it. None of us can really decide for you though if it's worth $35k more. For me, it certainly wouldn't be worth it.
I'm waiting for a 2017. I'll wait 4 more years and hopefully pick one up when they've gone way down in price, or... just keep fixing my car when that 4 year warranty runs out in 2021. In the end, it may be better to keep fixing mine, even if the repairs are absurdly expensive, since getting a 2017 in 4 years will cost SO MUCH MONEY out of pocket. And, I LOVE MY CAR.

Actually I am going from a 2012 s550 which I was very happy with. The 2014 s63 is quite a bit more advanced technologically so it should be a new experience. It's nerve wracking to wait for delivery. It is on its way from California to New Jersey.
If you get a lot more goodies in the new car you will probably be happy upgrading.

Will do, Vince, I love this car already tho... can't believe the diff between my 2013 and this. And, my salesman was oblivious so almost everything about this car and it's features. I had to figure things out myself. I learned a lot on this forum and from YouTube vids.
I just bought the 2 yr extended warranty for it the other day, so, I now have 4 yrs of coverage.
MPH, if ur interested, PM me, I saved like $1300 on it thru a MBW tip/contact. Also, check out the 222 S550 section. There's a great thread on lesser known features on our car.

Hi everyone,
I have been driving my 2014 s63 for a few weeks and I will tell you what I think. I kept hearing about how smooth the ride is but it seemed stiffer than the s550. Apparently it's true. To me there is a significant difference and I miss the unbelievable smooth ride on the s550. It is not as quiet inside as the s550. Also it's quite the gas guzzler. It's annoying to go to the gas station so often. Otherwise it is an amazing piece of engineering.
I would like to hear opinions on the issues in my post.

I'm going from a S63 to a S63, so, the ride seems the same to me. I'm sure it's the stiffer AMG suspension. Are you at least in comfort shock mode? As for the gas, you have to be VERY gentle with the pedal to achieve 15mpg in the city. Almost to the point where it's just too annoyingly slow on acceleration. Again, same as my 13' S63. Use the C trans mode and let the ECO turn the car off while stopped. It'll help.
I also received 2 yrs free maintenance (promo MBUSA is running), so, that was a really nice bonus. On top of that, my S came, courtesy of the previous owner, an installed K40 360i radar and laser detector.
Did you buy the extended warranty? I purchased the 2 yr from a MB dealer out in CA, saved me a ton from local dealership. If you're interested, lmk.

Comfort mode does help. Do these cars have the abc suspension? There is alot of conflicting info. It looks like there is no abc ord mbc with all wheel drive. Just airmatic.
2 yrs free maintenance is really good. You probably bought the car at that dealer.
I bought the extended warranty for three years and I am sure I overpaid. I was happy they even sold it to me. They said the dealer I bought it from (not Mercedes) still had the previous owners name on the title so the car was still eligible for the extended warranty.
Did you try to connect the internet in the car?

The 2 yrs service was a MBUSA promotion, so, good at all MB dealers throughout the US (May 31st, today, is the last day for it). My car did come from a MB dealer on the other side of the state... It came CPO'd, which gave me 2 years of warranty (1 left from new car, and 1 CPO). I was quoted $5111 with tax for the 2 yr extension from MB I bought the car from. I purchased the xtra 2 yr from a different dealer that I got off this forum.
As for the net, I didn't think I could... I'm not a M Brace subscriber, and I thought you had to sub to that to get the net. .
