Does the W222 V12TT have a torque converter or wet clutch?
Looking to replace my 221 S65 and wasn't too thrilled with the W222 S63 transmission. Does the W222 S65 use a wet clutch or torque converter?

As you can see from my profile I have both a w222 S65 and a W212 E63S. The S65 has a 7speed with a standard torque converter. It is much more refined and better programmed than the 5sp in my 2006 S65. The E63S shifts faster but it is crude and rough compared to the S65 transmission. We have a 2018 E63S on order, I am curious to see if the 9speed is at all improved in this area. I drove a 2017 E43, it seemed similar to our 2014 but with a lot more shifting and a lot less power. Not smoother.
