I was extremely disappointed driving my S63 with the stock run flats last winter in NY. Has anyone tried Pirelli Sottozero tires? Also, is there a fix from Mercedes with turning (hard left or hard right) at start up on very cold days (below 32 degrees)? When pulling out of a parking spot, If felt like one front tire was turning and the other didn't so the car jerked. After a few minutes of driving everything is fine. My dealer told me it was the tires, another reason for hating the run flats.

The stock Conti's on mine do the same jerk move in cold weather tight turns - sounds and feels awful. When I take them off and put on my Michelin winters it goes away completely.

The summers "skip" when cold at least the OEM Conti's
I have the SZ 3s and run then with no complaints during the winters

Absolutely great tires. Bought them brand new and now have 3000 miles on them. Just drove in 3 inches of fresh snow and they were a hoot. Combination of great all-wheel drive and great tires made for a fun day. They handle snow terrifically. Ok on ice, but no tire is great. Will buy them again.

Spare yourself a headache, car is practically underivable in our region with stock tires. I got Conti DW6, awesome traction all year around, including snow. Also I had weird rubbing with stock tire similar to what SVL desribe, which is gone with DW6 Tires, my guess is due to them 1 size down on width.Originally Posted by Litho

Don't know where you live but Omaha is ice, slush and snow all winter. I live on a pretty major hill. Neither myself or my wife (cla45) have had any issues with the tires. Will buy them again.
