Key fob question

2018 keyless question...

The keyless lock/unlock works after I hold both the lock and unlock buttons down on the fob to reset it. Then the next time I come back to the car it doesn’t work.

Please advise.

Thank you!

Have never heard of this on the Benz, however I am an automotive technician for Lexus vehicles. I have seen a Lexus key fob drain the battery in the FOB. All is what I did is replace the FOB and program to the car. However you said you are resetting the FOB. I have never heard of this before for any car. It either works or is doesn't. I would replace the key battery and see what happens, if that doesn't work, then I would recommend the dealer check it out. Sorry.

Thanks for that. I think I figured it out. You can’t use the lock button in rapid succession on the fob, or it will deactivate the keyless features.
On my Lexus that was not the case. You could use the door handles or the fob, and it would not affect the functionality.
