2014 S63 or 2009 S65
I know the cars are two diff platforms but I wanted to see if anyone could give input on why one over the other. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on the S65 but I saw that the 2014 and later S63 is AWD. Which is a big deal for traction/speed off the line. I love the S65 but it is 5 years older and other than the diamond stitching and V12 I'm not sure if I should just get the newer S63. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks guys!!!

The spread in technology alone between the 2009 car and the 2014 car might as well be 100 years! Having just sold my 2010 63 for a 2015 63, and after having driven my new car for a week, and then climbing back into my old car just for kicks, it is not even the same ball-park.. not even the same sport!
Get the newer car, you'll be happier. Also - from teh research that I recall doing before buying my 63, the V12's run a TON hotter so there's more problems especially given mileage and condition of the 65.
Good luck

Aside from the tech aspect differences, you save more money at the pump from a V8 TT vs V12. More mod friendly on the S63!V8 TT M157 engine, transmission and exhaust AND warranty warranty warranty. Get the extended warranty for the S63 and it will pay itself after factory warranty expires.
You do NOT want to own a Mercedes, particularly AMG without warranty.

OMG... you definitely want to get the 14 S63!!!! YES! Just do it. Like the others said, not even in the same ballpark. Yeah, we'd all like the ultra exclusive S65. I used to dream about one, but in the end, the S63 is more liveable and MUCH less expensive in so many ways. Just do it... you'll be SO glad you did.

I had a 2012 S63 and now a 2014 S63. I absolutely love the W221's...but the W222 is a space ship in comparison to the prior generation.
I had issues getting bluetooth music to even stream in my 2012 without buying aftermarket peripherals...it's literally a 2005-2006 engineered platform so you're nearing 15 year old technology even in a late model W221.
